EMMI partners from NOVA Lisbon, UCL Louvain La Neuve, TU Darmstadt, Grenoble INP and Uni Bordeaux participate in the project SusMatEner, funded by the EU HORIZON programme as a Marie-Curie Doctoral Network (call MSCA-2024-DN-JD).

15 PhD candidates, all in international co-supervision and with an industry partner, will work on new and optimised materials for various applications in renewable energy. The guiding principle is 'materials-by-design', achieved by close collaboration between experimentalists and experts in machine learning and life cycle analysis.

A comprehensive training programme will ensure that this ambitious concept can be realised, and that the PhD graduates will have excellent career perspectives, contributing to European pre-eminence in the key enabling technology Materials for Energy.

The project will start in January 2025, and PhDs will begin in autumn 2025.

A dedicated project website will be launched for the recruitment process, please check back here to find more details.
